For this month's contest, we are going to remodel the look of the group pages. The journal banners currently in use were the winners of a contest last September, and I think they are all very nice looking banners. You can see the banners on the Main journal (that would be this one), Group Information journal, Group Members journal, and the Tutorial Listing journal.

I feel it is time, however, for a makover...

So the contest for July is:



We are using four different banners, so we will have 1st - 4th place winners replacing the current banners. These banners will be in place on all of the journals from August until we decide to do this again, probably in about another 6 months. First place will be on the Main journal, 2nd will be for the Group Information journal, 3rd will be for the Group Members journal and 4th will go on our Tutorial Listing journal.

There will be no restrictions with respect to formulas, OCA's, etc., but there will be a restiction for the banner image size. The banners can have maximum dimensions of 450px wide by 150px high. Images not following these dimensions wil NOT be accepted.


Here are the Banners Makeover Contest Rules:


Image must a new creation. Not one previously posted in your gallery, or even a derivative of an image you've done before. Entirely new.

Image must be created entirely in UF. (see next note)

The words "Ultra Fractal" must appear on the image. Text work can be done using UF, or you may use another graphics program for the text. Minimal postwork other than the text is allowed, but we want the focus to be on what you can do in Ultra Fractal, not PS or PSP.

Image must be 450px wide and 150px high. No more, no less.

Post your entry in your gallery and then send us note with a link to the image. Use "Contest" as the note subject.

Entries allowed from members only. You may only submit one image, and you cannot change your entry once it has been submitted.

Deadline for the Journal Banners Contest will be Friday, July 28th (Midnight Central Time). Voting will run from July 29th through August 1st (Midnight Central).

The winner(s) will be announced Wednesday, August 2nd. The first-place winner will be the Artist of the Month for August with the winning entry as the Featured Deviation for the month of August. The 1st - 4th place winners will have their entries appearing on the journals mentioned above for at least six months, maybe longer. In the case of a tie for any of the places, the admins will make a judgement to decide the winner.
